Yosemite National Park California

For the active individual, many of the campgrounds offer activities for all ages. You can go hiking, swimming, fishing, etc. Bring your family and friends and have an experience of a life time. If you just want to relax, enjoying the tranquility while relaxing can be joyous. California is known for its scenic beauty. Enjoy the weather and surroundings. Some of the most famous beaches are in California. Where ever you are at in California, the Pacific Ocean is never far away.

California is well-known for its diversity, in so many aspects. And that very well applies to the camping sites too. Enjoy camping at a destination of your choice. You can go camping at the beaches, the mountains, state or national parks, deserts, lakes, country, the city, etc.

Make your selection according to your climate preference. In the summer, southern California can reach triple digit weather. If you are not a fan of scorching hot weather, consider driving a few miles up north for the camping trip. Northern California is beautiful in the summer time. It is bright and sunny and mildly warm without the unpleasant heat wave of southern California.

But if you are not up to that, you can always go to one of the famous deserts (like Palm Springs) and enjoy your time there. They are famous for their golf courses and sunny weather. You might find the deserts to be warmer. And the pools and Jacuzzis are kept warm.

In the spring and fall, both regions of California seem to be equally gorgeous. Being outdoors is like none other. During those times are perfect to enjoy all the fun activities the camping sites have to offer and get the full experience. If you do not like scorching hot summer weather, take a trip up north where it is still sunny yet cool. The bay area weather around winter time is beautiful. It is sunny and slightly warm, but at night, it is pleasantly cool.

Whether you are renting an RV, roughing it out in tents, or enjoying a pampered experience in fancy accomodations, camping in california will be an experience to remember. Be sure to take lots of pictures!

The best type of food for Trekking

freeze-dried-meals When going trekking you will either need to take meal with you or source it locally.  If you’re just camping recreationally and there are food shops nearby then it makes sense to simply go to the store and purchase meal, either to consume back at the camping site or to eat on-site at a restaurant for example.

But if you are trekking in the wilderness, or are taking your camping seriously (if you are staying in a tent but eating at Dominoes then you are not taking it seriously!) then you need another way.

If you are a huntsman or wilderness expert then, depending on the local laws and availability of local wildlife, you may be able to feed yourself by trapping animals. But for most of us the safest method is to simply take meal with you.  Then you know you’ll have enough food to eat, and will retain the authenticity of your camping holiday.

The problem is that meal is by and large both big and heavy, so if you are backpacking this can prove to be a bit of a problem.

Freeze dried food, however, are the ideal solution to this problem.  During the freeze drying process the sizable majority of the moisture is removed from the meal, greatly reducing the weight and size while keeping most of the flavor and nutritional value.  The foods are then packed in airtight pouches which can be stashed away for many years in most cases.

To eat the food you merely need to add boiling water and stir for a moment.  This obviously mean that you’ll either need to take adequate water with you (which would be a little impractical in itself due to it’s size and weight) or have a source of clean water at or near your camping ground.  You will also need a portable stove or fire making items in order to boil the water.

Freeze dried foods do not imply that the food has to be a tastless mush. The freeze drying procedure preserves most of the taste and nutritional value of the original meal, and once rehyrated it tastes, smells and looks like it did previously even retaining the same texture. Nor are the meals dull, with plenty of tasty modern dishes like Freeze Dried Apple Pieces and Custard

Mountain House, is the No1 make of trekking foods, and has been the selection of out-of-door enthusiasts for in excess of thirty years. That’s because Mountain House is widely regarded as the best tasting freeze dried meals, and are convenient, easy to prepare and have a long Shelf Life of roughly 5 years.
